General Manager, Mae Rodgers, started The Vine Connection in February 2005. It then broadcasted from a small house (as 1320 AM) on Hackney Ave. in Washington. It began as an interactive, community-minded Christian radio station sponsoring a series of Gospel shows and events until February 2008. The Vine Connection resumed broadcasting in December 2011 from its new location at 408 N. Market St. Washington. At this point, Pastor Adrian B. Wyrick II teamed up with Mae Rodgers as Asst. Manager of the VC. Also, some of the original staff members rejoined the station. On June 1, 2013, Mae Rodgers negotiated a deal and moved The Vine Connection to FM. Its new call letters became WSTK and its new frequency on 104.5 megahertz. The VC now enjoys the benefits of a better quality sound and an extended coverage area including Aurora, Bayboro, Belhaven, New Bern and Havelock.
